Vista Alegre Vintage Single Estate is from the harvest year 2001 and bottled in 2003. This Vintage is produced from grapes from the Douro Valley's highest situated A-field.
Here you get a perfect port wine for strong mature cheeses, sweet desserts, including cakes, walnut tart or chocolate cake. A cool young Vintage Port will also be a sure winner with a good piece of red beef with a strong pepper or port sauce.
Should be served cellar cold and decanted before serving, as there will be sediment in the bottle. The sediment is not nice to put in your mouth, but use it in the sauce.
Serve Vintage Port in large wine glasses.

Vintage Port is a port wine from a single harvest year, which is always aged for 2-3 years, after which it is bottled unfiltered. Afterwards, the wine should be drunk young or old. It is a wine that undergoes incredible development during bottle storage. Most vintages should preferably be stored in the cellar 20-30 years from the harvest year, and some vintages must be stored even longer.
