In this Colhetia Quinta da Vista Alegre, the grapes were harvested in 2001 and the wine has been aging in barrel ever since. The wine has only now been bottled in 2021.

Colheita is a Tawny from a single harvest, which is always aged for a minimum of seven years in barrel and often much longer. Please note that there is always both the harvest year and bottling year printed on the bottle. So that you can see how many years the wine has actually aged in barrel.

A Colheita is always ready to drink when it is bottled. It therefore serves no purpose to store the wine further in the bottle.

Vista Alegre Colheita 2001 is a perfect end to a good meal, or with sweet desserts, mature cheeses, strong blue cheese.
It can be drunk with everything, whether it is with cakes, chocolate, walnuts, crème brûlée or with a good cup of coffee with a cigar.

About the Vinhuset

Quinta da Vista Alegre is located in Pinhão, on the right side of the Douro River. With natural beauty and a unique location, facing south and at an altitude of around 250 meters – these are key factors in achieving the perfect ripening of the grapes.

It's about. 60 hectares of vineyards where you can find the most noble grape varieties in the entire Douro region. Mainly grapes such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca, among others in lower quantities. The oldest vineyards, known as “Vinhas Velhas” (“Old Grapes”), are over 100 years old.

All the grapes have been classified as “A” and have been since 1932 by the then regulatory body, Casa do Douro, due to their quality potential.

The vineyards of Quinta da Vista Alegre are part of the beautiful landscape of the Douro River, whose images illustrate specialized publications that glorify the splendor of the Douro River with its valley sides lined with striped rows of grapes.
