Vin de Pierre Rosé from Domaines Bunan is an organic wine, made from Grenache and Syrah grapes that have grown in the red clay and sandstone soil of the Pays du Mont Caume.

The wine:

The Grenache and Syrah grapes for Vin de Pierre Rosé IGP Vin de Pays du Mont Caume come from fields located at Mont Caume, which casts its shadow over the vineyards in the morning. The Mistral wind rushes over the vineyards and dries the grapes so that diseases are avoided. The soil consists of red clay and sandstone soil.
Immature and excess bunches are removed and the ripeness of the grapes is carefully monitored in order to be able to harvest at just the right time. The grapes undergo traditional vinification.

Domaines Bunan is located in Bandol in Provence. Bandol has a long and adventurous past as a wine growing area. The wines from Bandol have both had their ups and downs over time. In 1961, Paul and Pierre Bunan fell in love with a property in the Bandol region of southern France. With the strong sun, the stony soil and the dry stone walls, Bandol is ideal for viticulture both geographically and geologically. A geological fault in the underground allows the roots of the vines to anchor themselves in the soil layer that was formed in the Triassic over 250 million years ago. The maritime microclimate, together with the high number of hours of sunshine per year, further contributes to the good growing conditions in the area.

Today, Paul and Pierre's children have all joined the family business in their respective fields. One takes care of the vineyards, another of communications, the third of sales and marketing and the fourth of the winemaking.
The family's motto is that good wine is made when you respect the vines. Since 2009, Domaines Bunan has cultivated the vineyards without insecticides and herbicides and is today organically certified and also grows the grapes in a biodynamic manner, because as they say, a satisfied vine produces better grapes.
