This 50 years Tawny Port from Vista Alegre is a very special batch that is the result of the combination of carefully selected old tawny port wines, aged in very old casks. Barrels stored in the cellar, right in the heart of the Douro region, with an average age of more than 50 years.

Color: Deep amber, with olive green undertones.
Scent: Very bubbly on the nose and extremely complex, it feels like an explosion of aromas intertwining, making it a mysterious wine. The aromas of roasted nuts, coffee and molasses stand out with light notes of tobacco leaves and fine spices.
Taste: It is impressive because of the complexity that you can feel right at the entrance, characteristic of its already long age. The perfect harmony between freshness and more intense flavors such as notes of wood toast, coffee and caramel. It is a wine with a memorable finish.

Grapes/Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão.

Should be enjoyed at a temperature between 10ºC and 12ºC.

This port wine is obvious to combine with rich and intense cheeses or served alone with coffee or chocolate and a fantastic companion to a good cigar.

Port wine, which is a natural wine, is susceptible to build up deposits over time. It must be served carefully so that it does not become cloudy.

Storage: Keep the bottle at a constant temperature and away from intense light. After opening, the bottle should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 22 to 26 weeks.

About the Vinhuset

Quinta da Vista Alegre is located in Pinhão, on the right side of the Douro River. With natural beauty and a unique location, facing south and at an altitude of around 250 meters – these are key factors in achieving the perfect ripening of the grapes.

It's about. 60 hectares of vineyards where you can find the most noble grape varieties in the entire Douro region. Mainly grapes such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca, among others in lower quantities. The oldest vineyards, known as “Vinhas Velhas” (“Old Grapes”), are over 100 years old.

All the grapes have been classified as “A” and have been since 1932 by the then regulatory body, Casa do Douro, due to their quality potential.

The vineyards of Quinta da Vista Alegre are part of the beautiful landscape of the Douro River, whose images illustrate specialized publications that glorify the splendor of the Douro River with its valley sides lined with striped rows of grapes.
