Tweeddale 28 Years The Evolution Blended 52%

Tweeddale 28 years The Evolution Blended is a luxury blend of classic Speyside single malt and a Lowland single grain, where the youngest is 28 years old. It is the latest and oldest Tweeddale whiskey to date, Natural color and not chill filtered.

Tweeddale 28 Year Old is what Alasdair Day believes Richard Day would have created, a full-bodied traditional blend that incorporates the elegance and fruity sherry notes of classic Speyside malts.

Scent: Juicy blackcurrants, cherries, plums and creamy waxy notes. Lemon glaze. Others have smelled freshly baked cakes and a touch of honey.
Taste: Starts with rich and juicy Christmas cake notes with blackcurrant and pear (almost mulled wine-like fruity sweetness) and a touch of orange peel.
Aftertaste: Light hints of American oak sharpening and structuring the finish with a hint of milk chocolate.

Luxury blend of classic Speyside single malt and a Lowland single grain, the youngest being 28 years old. Natural color and not cold-filtered.

Tweeddale 28 Year Old is what Alasdair Day believes Richard Day would have created, a full-bodied traditional blend that incorporates the elegance and fruity sherry notes of classic Speyside malts.

Food suggestions: Chocolate desserts, creamy or blue cheese, or just after dinner and sitting in front of the fire, it will suit perfectly.

The Tweeddale Legacy:

Alasdair Day talks about The Tweeddale whiskey and his great grandfather, Richard Day who blended The Tweeddale Whiskey at Coldstream on the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders from 1895 to the 1940s.

Back in 1820, bthe Reds John and Andrew Davidson their business in Coldstream, as brewers and merchants of wine and spirits.
The
ran a licensed grocery store at 1 Duke Street where The Tweeddale Whiskey was born. This is where Richard Day ended 1895 as an office boy and learned the art of mixing. Through throughout his career he wrote down small details of numerous mixing recipes in his 'cellar book'.

In the year 1923, Richard Day took over the company from the brothers J&A Davidson. He ran it until the pre-WWII market slump, gradually sold his casks and retired. Alasdair Day inherited his great-grandfather's cellar book and began in 2010 to recreate The Tweeddale Whisky.

By using its original recipe of eight single malts and a single grain, The Tweeddale Whiskey was reborn.
