Tomatin Cu Bocan Bourbon Cask Originally, Cú Bòcan is a lightly peated single malt matured in a combination of Virgin Oak, Bourbon and Sherry casks.

Scent: Hints of smoke, sweet paprika, dried fruit and dark syrup caramel side by side with predominant wood, cream and malt nuances.
Taste: Rich and fruity, butterscotch and almonds, dark chocolate, coffee, biscuits and roasted chestnuts.
Aftertaste: Slow start with an incredible sweetness and a light smoky taste that becomes drier with time.

Cu Bocan:

The hellhound Cú Bòcan is said to have haunted the residents of the small village of Tomatin throughout the last century.
The dog is not seen often, but when it does happen, every few years, it is always a violent experience. Like the last time a distillery employee was out for a late night walk alone, and was chased by a big black beast with smoke coming out of its flaring nostrils and teeth bared. Against all reason, this distillery employee was so drawn to feel the dog's fur that he reached out with trembling hands to feel it. Only to see the dog disappear in a ghostly veil of bluish smoke and steam the next second. After which nothing but terrifying silence could be heard and felt.

Tomatine:

Highland distillery back from 1897. Tomatin is still today, one of Scotland's largest distilleries with no less than 23 stills. Their warehouses have a capacity of no less than 220,000 barrels. Tomatin, like several other Scottish distilleries, is in Japanese hands. They have been since 1984 and were the first to be acquired. A lot of malt whiskey is released at Tomatin. Tomatin brand is available at some independent bottlers, many of them have really old ones lying around.
