Tomatin Contrast Bourbon/Sherry Cask is a released with 2 bottlings under the name “Contrast”. They are packaged elegantly in a nice gift box.
What Tomartin has done here is to find respectively Bourbon and sherry casks from the years 1973, 1977, 1988, 1991, 2002 and 2006. Here they have made a pure bourbon bottling and a pure sherry bottling from these years. These are therefore casks from the same six years of distillation, which have been selected and emptied by their distillery manager, Graham Eunson
It is well known that up to 70 % of the final flavor of Scotch Whiskey comes from the cask in which it was matured. With this set, Tomatin wanted to compare it directly. Find and show the effect of different cask types on the same whiskey.
The actual contrast between these two whiskeys turned out to be far greater than they had anticipated. These are two incredible whiskeys that you can now enjoy comparing side by side.

Scent: Syrup and honey with notes of lemon and lime with a touch of nuts and vanilla
Taste: Sweet vanilla with notes of lemon and raspberry with ice cream.
Aftertaste: Sweet mild and fresh.
Tomatin Contrast Sherry:
Scent: Toffee with apple crumble
Taste: Cinnamon and peppercorns mixed with jam.
