They present their debut release from 32 exceptional casks, each bottling at 50% alcohol strength – a standard that testifies to their uncompromising approach to quality.

Strathearn Distillery

A New Chapter in Scottish Whiskey Heritage In 2019, Strathearn Distillery was acquired by Douglas Laing. Known by whiskey enthusiasts for their excellent range of single malts and blends such as Big Peat and Scallywag. The family-owned business was founded in 1948, but this is its first step into the world of distilling. The distillery has previously released gin, rum, new make and a few distillery-exclusive bottlings of single malts. But this is the first one that is widely available.

Whiskey director Cara Laing said: “This moment has been a long time coming and it is one that we are extremely proud to share with the world. As the third generation at the helm of Douglas Laing. I am proud to lead this step into this exciting new adventure of distilling.”

Everything at Strathearn is on a human scale. As Laing explained: “Our team at Strathearn distillery make one cask of spirit per shift or, simply put, one cask a day. This may seem like a drop in the ocean compared to some distilleries. But for Strathearn, it's a proudly handcrafted drop that encapsulates the spirit of the distillery.”
