This Vintage 2007 from Quinta do Pego has been praised to the skies by the international wine press as a thoroughly fantastic vintage - on par with the very best Vintage vintages (1963 – 1977 – 1994).
Smell and taste:
The perfect weather in 2007 has meant that a perfect balance has been achieved with a delicate and complex bouquet of red fruits, blackberries and plums in a full and well-balanced taste with soft tannins.
It is produced by Rozès' winemaker Manuel Henrique and consultant Wouter Pienaar. The grapes for the wine (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Vinhas Velhas) come from the old vines that were in the quinta's vineyards when the current owners took over the quinta.
2007 is the harvest year and bottled in 2009
This port should be served slightly chilled and is perfect as an “afternoon drink” or with strong cheese, chocolate and desserts, but it is also perfect on its own.

Port wine house:
Quinta do Pégo is located in the demarcated Douro region, or more precisely, in the Cima Corgo subregion, near the town of Pinhão. It is also located in the heart of the area classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
The grapes grown in this area are considered to be of the highest quality and are therefore used to produce Vintage Ports, Late Bottled Vintage Ports and Douro DOP reds with an elegant character.
Quinta do Pégo is undoubtedly one of the most stunning vineyards in the Douro River Valley. The landscape from the main terrace is approximately 138 meters above sea level.
According to historical documents, the production of wine at the Quinta can be dated back to 1548 and most likely to the Roman occupation. Today, high-quality Quinta do Pégo port wines and Douro reds are sold all over the world. A must-see place with must-taste wines.
