Langley's Old Tom Gin
Langley's Old Tom Gin is mild and sweet Gin in a creamy style made from 100 % grain alcohol.
Scent: Sweet and creamy orange essence with hints of juicy mandarin notes.
Taste: Slow start of juniper, fennel, nutmeg, lemon zest and coriander which develops into a smooth, soft, sweetened finish that creates a nice botanical intensity and is sweeter than a London Dry.
Langley's England has created a refined Old Tom, a classic, mild and sweet gin in the style of Victorian London

Cocktails: 50 ml Langley's old Tom + 20 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice + 10 ml sugar syrup.
Manufacturing:
Gin is basically a spirit distilled from grain and flavored with extracts from various plants, mainly juniper. Gin is produced in several places in Europe, but the English one is still considered the best. Langley's Old Tom Gin is made according to an old Victorian recipe.
About the manufacturer:
Gin was invented in 1650 by the Dutchman Dr. Sylvius, who worked as a doctor at the University of Leyden. In his practice, Dr. Sylvius a juniper elixir known as genièvre – the French word for juniper. He was convinced that juniper had a beneficial effect in the treatment of kidney and bladder disorders.
British soldiers, returning from the Dutch wars, took the recipe with them to England, where the name was shortened to "gen", which eventually became "gin". It quickly became the English national drink.
Langley Distillery was founded in 1920 as a gin distillery and is thus one of the oldest privately owned gin distilleries in England. In the previous century it had been a brewery. Everything at Langley Distillery is made using traditional methods and by hand.
