Perth was once the capital of Scotch whiskey blending, but as the whiskey shops moved out of the city, the old tradition was forgotten. Along with the city's status, 'Old Perth' was also forgotten, an old blend of malt whiskey developed by Peter Thomson in 1908. Peter Thomson's Old Perth Whiskey blend quickly became a great success, which was attributed to the high content of sherry matured malt whisky. Today, the Morrison family continues the tradition and has relaunched Old Perth as a 100 % malt whiskey matured in high quality sherry casks.

General information about Old Perth Blended Malt Scotch Whisky:
Old Perth collects the finest sherry-matured single malt whiskeys from specially selected distilleries in the Glenlivet region of Speyside, after which these are blended in the city of Perth in Scotland. Old Perth represents classic Speyside style, both soft and fruity but with good body as it is bottled at a minimum of 46 % alcohol.
Old Perth Blended Malt Scotch Whiskey is owned and operated by Jamie and Brian Morrison who are part of the old Morrison whiskey family. For five generations, the Morrison family has worked with whiskey in both retail and wholesale sales, but also as blenders, bottlers and distillers. It is no exaggeration to say that the Morrison family is one of the oldest whiskey families in Scotland. The Morrison family is best known for the ownership of Bowmore Distillery, which Brian Morrison sold to Suntory in 1994. Today, the old family owns several different whiskey brands as well as a newer whiskey distillery which was established in 2017 and which goes by the name Aberargie Distillery.
