The Mount Gay Copper Pot Still is from the distillery all the way back to 1703. Rum has been produced here for more than 300 years, where heritage and expertise are still experienced. A rum lover's paradise.
Aroma: Warm butterscotch with intertwined mocha and toffee with hints of plum.
Taste: Spices come first, followed by dried fruit along with dark chocolate, with some notes from the oak.
Mount Gay Copper Pot Still is this year's limited edition, crafted by Master Blender Trudiann Branker, using only rum distilled in their double retort pot stills, celebrating the way Mount Gay originally made rum for around 200 years. From the distillery's beginnings in 1703 until the early 1900s, when a full copper Coffey still was introduced, Mount Gay was a rum made purely in pot stills. Limited to 4,920 bottles, the result is a beautiful rum reminiscent of the past.
It takes every drop of our heritage – past and present – to make Mount Gay rum. From its founding in 1703 to the legendary leadership of Sir John Gay Alleyne. To the grave of our first and only well. The well that still works to this day, more than 300 years later. For the single-stranded cane fields we plant on the property today. It's all part of Mount Gay.
