Morgon Corcelette Laurent Perrachon
Morgon Corcelette from Laurent Perrachon is full-bodied and intense with silky tannins, a sumptuous wine with great personality. Made from Gamay grapes from vines that have an average age of 50 years. The soil on the west-facing field, Corcelette, consists of granite and slate.
The whole bunches are sorted and partially de-stemmed on arrival at the winery and pressed in a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes 12 to 15 days. During fermentation, daily stirring takes place both by pressing the wort into the must and by pumping the must over the wort. The wine is aged for nine months in concrete tanks and in large casks.
Scent: Seductive scent of ripe fruits with cherries, peaches, apricots and plums.
Taste: Full-bodied with intense flavors of ripe berries and fruits and with silky smooth tannins.
Server for: Rich meat dishes, game or cheese.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
About the Vinhuset:
The property La Bottière has been in the possession of the Perrachon family since 1877, but the earliest traces of the family in the wine business date back to 1601.
The Perrachon family makes wine like their predecessors, in the traditional way. Today they own several properties and vineyards in Burgundy, and the main part of their business takes place at Domaine des Mouilles, which they bought in 1989. This property is located in the heart of the Juliénas region and has fields with the best location and best soil. Their vineyards are located in six different appellations: Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie, Chenas and Saint-Amour. The Perrachon family is working on restructuring the company, and within the next few years they will be able to stop all use of chemical products.
The climate in Burgundy is continental with winters that can be extremely cold with late frosts and summers where the temperature can be extremely high.
