Meikle Tòir – The Original is the distillery's classic smoked single malt, celebrating their pursuit of smoke (35 PPM).

BILLY WALKER'S TASTING NOTES
Scent: Christmas spices, burnt honey, roasted coffee beans and hazelnuts, smoked almonds and caramel.
Taste: Hint of sweet peat, with rich chocolate and heather honey, followed by cinnamon, ginger and smoked sugar.

The whiskey is bottled without cold filtration or the addition of colouring. Aged in First-fill Bourbon Barrels, American Virgin Oak casks and Rye Barrels.

This series is called "Meikle Tòir," which loosely translates to "The Great Pursuit." And it represents the distillery's bold step into a rare style in Speyside – the smoked single malt.

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Ben Rinnes in the heart of Speyside, The GlenAllachie Distillery has become a beacon of independent whiskey production. With Billy Walker's vision of quality over quantity, the distillery has given itself complete freedom to shape exceptional smoked whiskeys according to their own unique method.

Every phase of whiskey production is thought through down to the last detail, starting with the selection of premium mainland peat.

This peat gives the whiskey a subtle, sweet smoky flavor that harmonizes perfectly with Speyside's characteristic finesse. Through an extended fermentation process and careful distillation, this smoked single malt is raised to an unusually high level of depth and complexity.

After several years of patient maturation and careful rest in selected oak barrels. Each cask is carefully selected by Billy Walker and his team, only the most exceptional whiskeys are given the honor of reaching the bottle.

The Meikle Tòir range is the pride of The GlenAllachie Distillery and represents the ultimate smoky Speyside experience. With an annual production of around 100,000 liters in small premium batch releases, this series is not just a whisky, but a symbol of dedication to the craft and a reminder that quality requires time and care. The production of Meikle Tòir is limited to only 6 weeks a year.
