Sartori Marani Bianco Veronese IGT “The White Amarone”
Sartori Marani Bianco Veronese IGT is the name of this extraordinary wine, often referred to as "The White Amarone." It originates from the renowned Italian wine house, Sartori, which has maintained its family-owned tradition for more than a century. This wine is an impressive example of Sartori's ability to create excellent wines. Made from 100% Garganega grapes grown in Sartori's own vineyards in the Veneto region of Italy. The grapes are handpicked and carefully selected and left to dry for 40 days - same method as used for the Amarone wines, therefore called Marani "The white Amarone".
Marani is produced using the renowned appassimento method, also known as the heart of the legendary Amarone winemaking. This method involves drying the grapes after harvest, which concentrates sugar and flavor in them. The result is a wine that explodes with ripe fruit nuances, honey and floral notes. Remarkably, Marani is not excessively sweet, making it a highly pleasant wine that can be enjoyed in several glasses without overpowering the palate.
Anyone who tastes this wine will be enchanted by its exquisite taste. It is suitable for every occasion, whether it is on the terrace or as a cozy wine on a cold evening.
At each year's harvest, Sartori carefully fine-tunes Marani to ensure it remains pure, fresh and full of character. This wine is a true tribute to Sartori's proud traditions and skill in winemaking, and its name, Sartori Marani Bianco Veronese IGT, should be mentioned with admiration when talking about Italian wine of the highest caliber.
About the Manufacturer
Andrea Sartori, the current president of Sartori, has deep roots in the winery's history. His great-grandfather founded the company in 1898, and in the year 2000 he took over the presidency. Since then, he has managed to increase the company's turnover significantly.
The story of Sartori begins with Pietro Sartori, a skilled businessman who initially ran a popular trattoria. Pietro decided to produce his own wine and bought his first vineyard in 1898. This was the starting point for the Sartori we know today.
Pietro's son, Regolo, continued the family wine tradition with success. He lived in the beautiful Villa Maria mansion in Verona, which still serves as the heart of wine production, aging and tasting. Regolo was a skilled winemaker and a master at mixing his own wine. This established Sartori as a significant player in the world of wine before he unfortunately died early in 1952.
Regolo's sons, Pierumberto and Franco, continued the business successfully. In the late 1990s, they took an important decision to sell approximately 40% of the company to the cooperative Cantina Sociale di Colognola, in collaboration with Andrea. This strengthened both the finances and the expertise of the company and marked the transition from a pure family business to a more business-oriented approach.
Sartori, named after the Italian word for "tailor," has always specialized in tailoring their wines to their audience's preferences. They strive for an elegant and quality-oriented style, which is reflected in their wines, which are always beautifully balanced without being too sweet. The Marani and Valpolicella ranges are Sartori's most popular wines, but they also produce other wines from the areas surrounding Verona, such as Soave, Bardolino and Bardolino Chiaretto. Sartori combines tradition with innovation to deliver high quality wine experiences to their loyal customers.
