LAGG Kilmory Edition Single Malt Whiskey – Isle Of Arran 46%

LAGG Kilmory Edition – The first core range release from LAGG Distillery. The name is inspired by the village of Lagg, located in the beautiful parish of Kilmory. The distillery was founded here and Arran Distillers wanted to honor this place by naming their first permanent single malt after it.

A whiskey that is created with care and dedication. It is distilled from Concerto malted barley peated at 50ppm and subsequently matured on the 100% first fill ex-bourbonfade. The result is a unique combination of smoky peat and creamy vanilla notes from American oak, which gives the whiskey its characteristic taste. With an alcohol percentage of 46%, all the complex flavor nuances are preserved, and the whiskey is neither colored nor cold-filtered to preserve its authenticity.

Scent: Vegetable and fruity. Smoked heather and burnt citrus.
Taste: Smoky and fruity. The initial burst of fruit gives way to a subtle smokiness of wood.
Aftertaste: Persistent and rich in citrus and peat.

About the Distillery:

The first "cut" The first drops at Lagg flowed from the boilers on Tuesday, 19 March 2019 at 14.35, and cask no. 1 was filled on Wednesday, 10 April 2019. The distillery, located on the southern tip of the Isle of Arran, is equipped with a 4 tonne mash tun and four washbacks ) of every 20,000 litres, which are made from Oregon Pine. A set of stills has been installed. A "wash still" of 10,000 liters and a "spirit still" of 7,000 liters. However, the production area is arranged in such a way that it can be expanded with a further 4 "washbacks" and another set of boilers; if this is desired at a later stage.

Distillery Manager, Graham Omand In connection with the establishment of the distillery, Graham Omand was appointed Distillery Manager. Graham has worked at the Lochranza distillery on Arran for almost 10 years, so he is well known to both colleagues and the company's policies.
