Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 2 is bottled directly from the cask, with no water added to reduce the alcohol content, to deliver extraordinary depth, complexity and balance of flavour.

Scent: Summer rose with ripe pear and fresh coconut with harmony of aromatic dry smoke.
Taste: Cooked pear and rich almond cake clouded with honey, salted sweet licorice with lightly toasted oak and ending with cracked black pepper and aromatic peat smoke.

Highland Park Cask strength Batch No. 2, the second release in the Cask Strength series, Gordon Motion, their Master Whiskey Maker, selected mainly sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, along with just a few ex-bourbon casks. Here you find aromas of summer rose, ripe pear and fresh coconut, gathering on a wave of aromatic peat smoke. Followed by a wild harmony of sweet and spicy flavors – poached pear and rich almond cake, a drizzle of cloudy honey and a twist of salty licorice. There are suggestions of toasted oak and exciting notes of orchards, black pepper and sweet aniseed, in a satisfyingly long finish. In a word (or three) we call it 'smoky peppery praline'.
