The taste is creamy and well balanced with apple and honey with green grapes and mild spice on toast. It contains a richness with warming syrupy aftertaste with hints of sweet oak and dates.

Chapter 1 of our Legacy Series paid tribute to Cochrane Cartwright and his vision for Glengoyne. Not only did the Distillery Manager there in 1869 that slowed down the distillation, when he introduced the famous first sherry cask to Glengoyne.

Glengoyne Chapter two honors Peter Russe, the man who has protected us from the changing winds of fashion and helped us stick to 'The Glengoyne Way'.

In 1869, Cochrane Cartwright made innovations that define Glengoyne to this day. 134 years later, the next chapter in our history unfolded when Peter Russell and his family became owners of Glengoyne and fulfilled their dream of having their very own distillery.

Glengoyne has been producing exceptional single malt whiskey for nearly 200 years. The entire product range is barrel-aged in the finest oak barrels in traditional "dunnage" warehouses. Glengoyne adheres to its six principles:

1. Air-dried barley
2. Slowest whiskey still in Scotland
3. Rare and expensive sherry casks
4. Careful storage at a stable temperature
5. Natural color
6. Tradition.

The result is a more subtle and complex whisky, which has retained all the delicate aromas and flavors from the malt.
