Glenfarcla's 10 year Single malt is 100 % oloroso sherry cask matured. Single malt that offers a wonderful dram that is smooth with complexity and sweet Sherry notes.

Scent: There is a lot of Sherry in the aroma from the 10 years in cask, together with honey and hints of caramel and barley.
Taste: Dried fruit with spices, touch of tart with caramel and light smoke.
Aftertaste: At the end, more spices come with hints of oak notes

Oak barrels from Spain:

Glenfarclas make use of direct fire on their stills to obtain the greatest quality of their worthy whisky. They tried in 1981 to use steam, but they went back to direct fire as too much strength came out of the whiskey. In order to cope with the tannin structure and the rich fruit culture that is in the old casks, there must be more fullness and strength in the spirit.
The wood comes from Jerez, where cooper Miguel Martin belongs. Mix of butts and hogsheads which are all old Oloroso casks and made in European oak. The core range from Glenfarclas has aged in a mixture of first-fill and re-fill casks.

With more than 80,000 casks for aging, Glenfarclas has an impressive amount of whiskeys in development that mature and develop their character over time.
