To create this enchanting whisky, Billy Walker has started the process of maturing the whiskey in the finest ex-Bourbon casks of American oak. After this initial maturation, the whiskey is carefully transferred to hand-picked European wine casks. Wine casks belonging to the prestigious AOC areas of Languedoc and Médoc in France as well as casks used for Grattamacco and Recioto della Valpolicella in Italy.

The remarkable innovation is expressed in The Cuvée Wine Cask Finish, where four exceptional wine casks are united to create a unique and sublime expression. GlenAllachie has dedicated itself to delivering an incomparable taste experience by combining the best of American ex-Bourbon casks and European wine casks.

About the Distillery:

1967 GlenAllachie Distillery was the fourth distillery designed by William-Delme Evans and built by Mackinlay McPherson (distilling arm of Scotch and Newcastle). It was designed to be almost full gravity fed to run on reduced energy.

In February 1968, the distillery began its first production run with the capacity to produce almost three million liters of alcohol. Production began with two stills and grew to four after just six months.

Campbell Distillers (later part of Pernod Ricard) acquired GlenAllachie Distillery in 1989 and production resumed on 24 April. This was the start of 29 years of uninterrupted production. The distillery was branded as the home of Clan Campbell Whisky.

In 2017, Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson joined forces to acquire GlenAllachie Distillery. And they formed The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited, bringing with them over 100 years of industry knowledge and expertise.
