GlenAllachie Distillery 
was established in 1967, and the first "new make" ran from the boilers in February 1968. GlenAllachie, which means "The Valley of the Rocks", was built as a result of the huge whiskey boom of the 1960s, where the total production in Scotland increased quite strongly, primarily driven by demand from the US market. The first owners who built the distillery were the company Mackinlays, which was a subsidiary of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries. The architect responsible for the construction was William Delmé-Evans, who was also behind the design of several other Scottish distilleries. In 1985 Scottish & Newcastle Breweries sold the company Mackinlays to Invergordon Distillers and in 1989 GlenAllachie became part of Campbell Distillers (now Pernod Ricard). In October 2017, the distillery was bought by the legendary Billy Walker and two business partners.
