GlenAllachie 2007 Red wine barrel Batch 2 is Billy Walker's original tasting notes:
COLOUR: Golden Blush.
NOSE: Red berries and heather honey with grapes, orange zest and pineapple.
KEY: Rich notes of heather honey, sultanas and toffee, with red berries, orange zest and cinnamon.

The distillery's equipment:

The distillery is equipped with a 9.4-tonne mash tun (mash vat) and 8 washbacks (fermentation vats). Distillation takes place on two boiler sets, which are unusual in that they are very wide at the bottom of the boilers. Another characteristic of the boiler house at GlenAllachie is that all the "shell and tube" condensers are placed horizontally above the boilers. GlenAllachie's water supply comes from the impressive Benrinnes, located just behind the distillery itself.
