This 9 year Single Malt, dedicated to the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2024 is one of the year's most exciting whiskeys from Glen Scotia. A special bottling has been selected specifically for the Campbeltown Festival which takes place in May. The whiskey is a 9 year old, unpeated variety with an unusual and remarkable finish of 6 months in fino sherry casks. Fino sherry is known for its dry, crisp, fresh and salty character. Which harmonizes perfectly with Glen Scotia's own salty and maritime profile that characterizes Campbeltown whisky.

Scent: Absolutely Campbeltown scent of foam splash on craggy rocks, spicy notes of toasted oak, citrus and lemon curd.
Tasting notes: Rank, fresh and intense on the tongue, again with lots of citrus, sea salt. Medium long finish and an immediate urge for one more sip!

Aging begins with 8.5 years in first-fill bourbon casks, followed by 6 months in fino sherry casks, giving the whiskey a unique flavor profile. This combination of casks is rare compared to the more common olorosof casks, but when you taste this whiskey it becomes clear how well it works.

The Glen Scotia 9 year bottling is bottled at full cask strength of 56.2%, has its natural color and is unchill filtered, preserving all the natural flavor nuances and complexity.

Glen Scotia was born in a place like no other. The smallest whiskey region on the west coast of Scotland, which was to become the Victorian whiskey capital of the world. We are once again delighted to open our distillery doors to friends from near and far, in celebration of both Campbeltown and its rich whiskey making heritage.

The Campbeltown Malts Festival takes place for a week each May, and gives the few distilleries that have persevered. Opportunity to step away from their stills and fully open their doors to the local community and visitors from afar. For the workers at our Glen Scotia Distillery, the festival represents their favorite and most anticipated moment of the year. A time to celebrate and raise a dram with friends old and new.
