Foursquare Rum is produced by RL Seale, one of Barbados' oldest family-owned trading houses whose commitment to rum extends from father to son since 1820. The current Master Distiller, Richard Seale, is one of the region's most innovative blenders and has a passion for producing perfect rum with good taste.
Foursquare Distillery, as one of the most modern rum distilleries in the world, is designed to be extremely sustainable.
Foursquare rum is made from the molasses from local sugarcane. It is slowly fermented for 44 hours with yeast from South Africa and then distilled. The rum is a mixture of pot and column distilled rum. The pot still distillate provides complexity and flavor, while the column adds balance and aroma. The mixture makes Foursquare Sagacity a Single Blended Rum, just like with Single Malt Whisky.
Foursquare Sagacity Single Blended Rum is matured in a combination of ex Bourbon and Madeira casks for 12 years. Bottled in August 2019 at 48%.
