About the Manufacturer
Fentimans is a British manufacturer of botanical beverages with roots dating back to 1905, when Thomas Fentiman, an ironworker, became the owner of a recipe for botanically brewed ginger beer as collateral for a loan. Thomas began producing the ginger beer and distributing it by horse-drawn carriage from door to door in handmade stone cans called "grey hens".
A central part of the company's history is Thomas' faithful family dog, Fearless, who rose to fame by winning Cruft's obedience class in 1933 and 1934. Fearless's portrait still adorns the Fentimans bottles and her image is an integral part of the company's heritage.
Although the world has changed significantly since the company's founding. Has Fentimans adapted to the modern age by changing their distribution methods to online and in stores, bars and restaurants. The iconic stone jars that were once used to store the drinks have been replaced by special bottles.
Even after over 100 years, Fentimans is still a family-owned business, now run by Thomas Fentiman's great-grandson. They continue to use the botanical multi-step brewing technique to produce their natural beverages. But with updated processes to extend the product's shelf life, including bottling, adding carbon dioxide and pasteurization. Despite these changes, Fentimans' commitment to delivering superior taste has remained unchanged over the years.
