Dos Maderas Caribbean Triple Aged 5+5 years
Caribbean Triple Aged 5+5 years from Dos Maderas is a delicate rum blend from Barbados and Guyana. These are two countries with their own style of rum. Common to both countries is that they make rum on pot stills and column apparatus. The powerful and aromatic rum is made on pot stills and the more gentle and rounded on more modern column systems.
Scent: Round and almost velvety scent of dish, spices and sweetness
Taste: Soft and delicate with notes of raisin, fig and vanilla
Aftertaste: The unique fusion of cultures gives the rum a long, rounded sweetness
Born the same way as Dos Maderas 5+3 and Dos Maderas 10+5 Luxury. Handcrafted and aged in the Caribbean for the first time. The rum is then sent to Williams & Humbert Bodega in Jerez, where it gets a turn in a solera system. "Dos Maderas" is Spanish and means exactly two types of wood, which refers to the way the rum is stored and matured.
About the Distillery:
The house was founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams, a great admirer and connoisseur of sherry – and Arthur Humbert, specialist in international relations.
In the 1960s, José, Nicolás, Jesús and Angel, who were members of the Medina family and worked at other Jerez wineries, decided to start their own winery: José Medina y Compañia. The most recent acquisition was Williams & Humbert, which now names all of Medina's activities.
