From the winery Beni di Batasiolo, a medium-bodied Dolcetto D`Alba DOC is presented here from the Piedmont region with a taste and aroma of fresh red cherries and balanced acidity in a long and refreshing with sweetness in the aftertaste.

Scent: Here are the beautiful fresh red berries and violets that come out of the glass.
Taste: Medium body with notes of fresh red cherries and a nice clean acidity that gives a long and refreshing aftertaste with good depth.
Server for: A glass in advance is perfect, for lighter meat and pasta dishes or chilled for fish.
Serving temperature 12-18°C.

Dolcetto D`Alba DOC from Bricco Vergne is harvested at the end of September. At harvest, the grapes are picked manually. They are then brought to the winery in La Morra, where they are gently pressed and the must itself flows from the grape skins. The grape skins lie for up to 10 days with the must to add extra strength and softness. The wine is then stabilized in tank before bottling in the beautiful tall bottle.

Dolcetto is well on its way to becoming the next great grape from Piedmont after Nebbiolo and Barbera. It is a very charming grape with incredibly fresh fruit and a slightly elegant aftertaste.

The grapes come from the Bricco Vergne vineyard, which is located between the two villages of La Morra and Barolo on a steep slope at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level. Here, the soil is calcareous and suitable for growing Dolcetto. The result is a wine with an intense bouquet and a nice acid balance. Batasiolo shows here that there is great potential in the Dolcetto grape.

The continental climate of Piedmont is tempered by air currents that enter through the Tanaro Valley, bringing slightly cooler summer temperatures and autumn mists that allow the grapes to ripen slowly.
