Dalva is an old port wine house, started in 1862. Until the 1970s, Dalva primarily bought grapes from other producers, to store and bottle them themselves. From 1978, when their first own vintage was released, and until now, things have been going strong. The house has spent considerable sums on new equipment, fields and better facilities, which has resulted in a huge improvement in quality. Dalva is now a highly respected Port wine house, where they especially specialize in tawny types with long aging, but also manage to make the classic vintages in the best quality. Their ports have only gotten better and better - at the same time they have a fantastic stock of tawnies and white ports from the last century. The house's ambition is to belong to the super league in Porto, and in short is one of the houses where you make the best purchases for the price today.

Here is a style where the wine is mixed from casks from different vintages, both younger and significantly older wines. This results in a taste that matches the style of a port that has aged in casks for approx. three decades. This ensures a high, uniform quality from year to year. This 30 year old wine from Dalva is absolutely world class! It has tremendous depth, great fullness, and fatness. It has notes of dried fruit, orange peel, cocoa and hazelnuts, and these are just some of the impressions that pour up the glass. It has a long aftertaste that offers coffee, cinnamon and a lot of complexity. This port wine goes really well with desserts, chocolate and aged strong cheeses. Please serve this port wine at a temperature of approx. 14-16°C, it may be left open for a few hours to develop, so that the aromas are fully expressed.
