Craigellachie 8 Year 2013 Càrn Mòr

Craigellachie 8 years 2013 from Càrn Mòr is bottled in 2022 and matured in European oak barrels and bottled at 47.5 % alcohol. This whiskey is bottled in Càrn Mòr's Strictly Limited series and only exists in 1173 copies. The whiskey is not chill-filtered nor is caramel color added.

Craigellachie 8 year single-batch single malt whiskey originates from the Speyside region of Scotland. Distilled at Craigellachie Distillery. Craigellachie, founded in 1891, is a well-known and highly respected whiskey distillery among whiskey fans. Their style can typically be described with tropical fruit, matchbox and black pepper.

Strictly Limited is the younger version of the Càrn Mòr series. These whiskeys are all bottled at 47.5 % and typically consist of a smaller cask pool. The series has previously bottled whiskeys from Ardmore, Glen Ord, Bunnahabhain, Benrinnes, Ben Nevis, Pultney, Caol Ila, Benriach, Mortlach and many more.

The series:

In the range of Càrn Mòr Single Malt Scotch Whiskey you will find unique single batch / single cask whiskeys from classic single malt distilleries around Scotland. Each release is strictly limited to one hundred bottles, and once these are sold out, there will be no more. Càrn Mòr is named after a beautiful mountain in the northwestern part of the Scottish Highlands, which rises 829 meters above sea level.

The Morrison family:

Càrn Mòr is owned by the Morrison family, who have worked with whiskey for five generations. Within both retail and wholesale sales, but also as blenders, bottlers and distillers. It is no exaggeration to say that the Morrison family is one of the oldest whiskey families in Scotland. The Morrison family is best known for the ownership of Bowmore Distillery, which Brian Morrison sold to Suntory in 1994. Today, the old family has several different whiskey brands as well as a newer whiskey distillery which was established in 2017 and which goes by the name Aberargie Distillery.

The Càrn Mòr range consists of three different ranges including their 'Strictly Limited', 'Celebration of the Cask' and 'Family Reserve'. Each series can and does something different, but the same for all of them is that the whiskey is unique and limited in edition.
