This 2022 Rum Cask Matured Whiskey from the Cotswolds, is a Limited edition release. It has aged in casks that previously contained rum and red wine. This whiskey has a high alcohol content of 55.6% and is part of the Hearts & Crafts range. Only 3,000 bottles of this batch 01/2022 have been produced. As it is a limited edition, the whiskey is particularly popular among collectors and connoisseurs.

Scent: Baked apples with vanilla ice cream with a hint of nutmeg.
Taste: Brown sugar and ripe pears together with the spices.
Aftertaste: Finishes nicely with tropical fruits and a touch of orange peel.

The Cotswolds Hearts & Crafts Limited edition series is an annual release. A celebration of the Arts & Crafts movement that has flourished in the Cotswolds. Celebrating the traditional craftsmanship on which the distillery is built.

Released non-chill filtered and without added color and at ABV of 55.6 %.

Cotswolds:

English distillery that has produced whiskey, liqueur and gin since 2014. The distillery is located in the Cotswold region in the mid-southern part of England.

Cotswold is one of the first distilleries to make whiskey in England. It was a requirement to stand out from the heavy boys in Scotland and Ireland. Fortunately, the young distillery received help from the legends Harry Cockburn, who previously managed the Bowmore distillery, as well as Dr. Jim Swan who is the world's leading expert in distilling and maturing whiskey.

The core of the distillery is Cotswolds but also releases a number of other whiskeys aged in different cask types. All are bottled at cask strength or close to cask strength. Unlike most Scottish distilleries, Cotswold does not use finish, where the whiskey is aged in bourbon casks, then given a few months in a selected type of cask. You store the whiskey right from the start in the selected cask type, and thus you can feel the cask's influence on the various releases much more clearly.
