The wine and the fields:

Chateneauf-Du-Pape Domaine Barville Brotte vines stand in the fields cultivated according to sustainable principles with careful pruning and harvesting. The Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes for this wine are handpicked at optimum ripeness. Transported quickly to the winery to start vinification with whole grapes. The individual grapes are separated and carefully selected by hand at the vineyard, after which the grapes undergo a gentle crushing. The grapes are fermented at 28°C, and undergo an approx. 3 weeks of maceration, where the grape must is pumped over the grape pomace daily. The Grenache grapes are aged for 12 months in French barrels, 1/3 of which are changed every year. The other two grape varieties, which are more fruity, are partly made in oak barrels.

Wine House Brotte:

Domaine Barville is the property of the Laurent Brotte family. The 15-hectare vineyard is located on the western side of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape district, and is composed of 7 parcels distributed over two of the best areas in the appellation: 'Pradel', where the soil consists primarily of clay and pebbles, and 'Beaurenard, where the soil primarily consists of crushed limestone. The vines have an average age of 35 years, and are located at an altitude of 100 m above sea level. The area is affected by the local wind 'The Mistral', which contributes to the unique climate in the area. The fields' south-facing slopes ensure that the grapes achieve perfect ripening before harvest.
