2022 Chateau Le Bos appears with a deep ruby red color that immediately brings to mind Bordeaux. An incredibly delicious experience with dark ripe berries and spices in good balance.

Scent: Up from the glass come blackcurrants and herbs with a hint of vanilla and leather.
Taste: Medium-bodied with a large bouquet of ripe fruit together with notes of barrel character.

The grapes:

The 2022 vintage is made from 90 % Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Franc, picked from 25-year-old vines.

Cabernet Franc is often a regular part of wine from Médoc in Bordeaux in particular, but is almost never the backbone of the wines. It is just as rare to find wine that is pure Cabernet Franc. What we experience in more and more wines is that it is mixed with Merlot in particular, as it is in this wine. The Cabernet Franc grape has less tannic acid content and a much softer texture than, for example, Cabernet Sauvignon, which makes it a good match for the Merlot grape.
