About the wine
Chateau Deyrem Valentin has 13 ha of land, which in the deeper layer is sandy and gravelly. The vines have an average age of 30 years. The wine is made from 50% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot. After the manual harvest, the grapes undergo traditional vinification in concrete tanks. The soaking takes place at a low temperature and takes approx. three weeks, during which the must is pumped over the grape vats or settled into the vats.
The wine ages for 15 months in French oak barrels, of which 1/3 are new, 1/3 have been used once and 1/3 have been used twice. The final mixing takes place in stainless steel tanks.
Scent: The delicious ruby red color. Inviting scent of ripe berries and cocoa that repeats itself in the taste, a pleasant and round wine that is juicy with soft tannins.
Server for: Leg of lamb, beef or pasta with piped caps, perfect accompaniment to a wide selection of cheeses.

Chateau Deyrem Valentin is located in the heart of Margaux in the Médoc, 30 km north of Bordeaux. The wine castle takes its name from the first owner, Valentin Deyrem, who was the first justice of the peace in Margaux just after the French Revolution. In 1928, Maurice Blanc took over the property and today his grandson, Jean Sorge, owns the château. Jean continues the centuries-old traditions with the help of her two daughters. The family works with respect for the terroir and mixes tradition with new technology to make elegant wines of high quality.
