This Leon Launois Prestige from Charles Mignon is clearly in the super league of champagne. The area Le Mesnil-sur-Oger is 100% Chardonnay on optimally located fields with Grand Cru classification. Great intensity and nerve, brings this champagne up to the level of the best wines in the world.
Scent: Nice of white flowers, minerality and fresh fruit
Taste: Great body and soft mousse with yellow and orange flavors with good intense minerality in the aftertaste.
Serving suggestion: Fish dishes, foie gras, welcome, sushi and poultry.

The champagne:
Champagne Leon Launois prestige is made from the Chardonnay grape. Usually champagne is blended from several different vintages, but this luxury cuvée is made from just one vintage. The wine is stored for a minimum of 4 years in the cellar before gentle dosing. Residual sugar is 8 gr./litre, which means it is on the dry end but with good body. This wine is ready to be enjoyed now, but also has the ability to develop further in the cellar for up to 15 years from the harvest year.

Charles Mignon is located in Épernay, which is one of the most important towns in the Champagne region. There are many large houses here, but only a few, like Charles Mignon, have a family character and hold fast to their identity. All wines are produced with an eye on family traditions over time, and Bruno Mignon ensures that his family traditions are maintained. The cellars lie deep beneath the city, and here the champagnes are allowed to develop their complexity to the delight of the true connoisseur.
