Caol Ila The Whiskey Trail 8 year old single malt is bottled at the Elixir distillery. Whiskey from the whiskey path series - with its own label.

Scent: First, some campfire smoke with sand and sweet citrus. Lemon with light medicinal touches with salted caramel with coconut flakes.
Taste: It is heavy peat with warming smoke and a touch of chilli. Here comes burnt lemon peel and black peppercorns.
Aftertaste: Long and smoky with pepper and some burnt gingerbread.

Distilled 14.3.2013 and bottled 7.7.2021 with a full 60.6 % from cask ref. 304580.

The blender and bottler company Elixir Distillers was founded by the two brothers Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh. They are also behind the shop The Whiskey Exchange. They use their extensive experience from virtually every corner of the spirits world. To fuse traditional craftsmanship with an insatiable hunger to experiment and innovate. The main focus is definitely on Scotch whisky, but also Japanese, Irish and American whisky. Tequila and rum have found their way into Elixir Distillers' beautifully designed bottles. Among the most notable brands we find Elements of Islay, Port Askaig, Single Malts of Scotland and Black Tot.

Originally the company was called Specialty Drinks, and the name only changed to Elixir Distillers in 2017. The two brothers blend and bottle whiskey, where does the "Distiller" part come in. In 2018 they announced plans to build a new distillery on the south coast of Islay. The future looks bright for fans of smoke and peat.
