Caisteal Chamuis 12 years Heavily Peated Blended Malt Whiskey is a mixture of distillates from whiskey aged in respectively:

• First fill Hogsheads of American oak
• Virgin American Oak
• Fresh Oloroso Sherry European Oak Heads sent directly from a Bodega in Jerez de la Frontera.

Blended and bottled by Torabhaig Distillery owners, Mossburn is distilled. Whiskey that is heavily peated mixed with island single malt whisky.

Caisteal Chamuis, also known as Knock Castle or Castle Camus, was once a strategic stronghold that was a contributing factor in the Macleod clan securing their dominion over the Sleat Peninsula of Skye. The castle was built in the 13th century on the site of the Iron Age fort known as Dun Torabhaig.

The castle ruins that we see today bear witness to its rich history. This classic island-style blended malt whiskey is a tribute to the life and traditions of the Hebrides. It should remind us of a time of peat fires, lively company and bold spirits, bottled in the old fashioned way, of course, without coloring or cold filtration.

Caisteal Chamuis 12 years is made in the Hebridean traditional way. From a place shrouded in fog — comes a whiskey that is mysteriously heavily smoky, yet soft and smooth — an enigma in itself. Tradition dictates blended whiskeys that feature complex layers of smoke.
