Bruichladdich Black Art Edition 10.1 45.1%
The 10th edition of a cult and unique series, Bruichladdich Black Art edition 10.1 is a 1993 vintage whiskey made on the island of Islay from 100% Scottish barley and Islay spring water. Unpeated, it was bottled in its natural color and without cold filtration to preserve the natural essential oils that give the spirit its complex and savory taste.
Scent: Warm and inviting, a bright fruity note welcomes you. The fragrant toasted oak brings chocolate praline, cedar wood, leather and subtle hints of cloves and nutmeg before transitioning to fruit notes of sweet apricot jam, ripe melon, dark cherries and blackcurrants.
Taste: Orange barley sugar, ginger nut biscuits and lemon meringue tart are followed by sweet apricot jam and marzipan. The toasted oak brings smooth chocolate and vanilla notes. A velvety texture, the depth and balance of this single malt glides across the palate.
Aftertaste: Lingering softness as ripe soft fruits, subtle tobacco and a touch of ginger linger.
Bruichladdich is the only distillery on Islay that bottles its whiskey on the island itself. Far from chemical formulas or industrial processes, Bruichladdich's reputation is mainly based on the know-how of their team.
Bottled in 2022, this 29-year-old whiskey is available in a limited edition.
About the distillery
Bruichladdich is a prominent Scottish distillery located on the scenic island of Islay and has a remarkable history in whiskey production. Founded in 1881, the distillery has achieved a unique status in the world of whiskey by combining tradition with innovation.
Their Scottish malted barley and the pure spring water from Davelly are carefully used to create a taste experience that reflects the island's unique nature. Bruichladdich's range includes a number of whiskey types. From light and delicate to smoky and complex, offering something for every taste and a wide audience of whiskey enthusiasts.
A particular highlight of Bruichladdich's portfolio is the Octomore range. Octomore is known for its extremely high peat concentration, measured in ppm (parts per million), which gives the whiskey a deeply intense smoky flavor. This series is one of the world's most smoked and is a tribute to the distillery's bold approach to whiskey production.
Bruichladdich has also demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by reducing the environmental impact of their production and promoting the use of natural ingredients.
With their passion for quality and innovation, Bruichladdich has established itself as a trusted figure in Scotch whiskey culture. Their variety of whiskies, including the unique Octomore range, continues to impress and inspire both seasoned and new whiskey enthusiasts.
