Brotte Viridi Cotes du Rhone – Organic
Viridi Cotes du Rhone from the Brotte winery has been named as the wine is a tribute to the organic grapes. In Latin VIRIDI means green with reference to grass.
Wine that should preferably be opened ahead of time or decanted so that it can draw air and open up.
Scent: Here are delicious notes of red berries such as raspberry, licorice and a hint of freshly cut grass.
Taste: Round and fruity with a delicious freshness, where hints of strawberry jam and forest floor balance with flowers and freshly cut grass.
Aftertaste: Long and fresh with red notes.
Server for: ISLANDbeef fillet, poultry with mushroom sauce or goat's cheese.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C
The wine:
Viridi is made from organically grown Grenache and Syrah grapes, which have benefited from the Mediterranean climate, tempered by the Mistral wind. The soil gives structure to the wine. The grapes are grown with respect for the environment, only natural fertilizers and a minimum of artificial products are used in grape cultivation, as prescribed by the organic regulations. No chemically produced products are used.
Wine house:
Laurent Charles Brotte settled in the prestigious wine region of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône region in 1931. Here the young Charles threw himself into viticulture and set up a bottling plant in the small town, and thus the seed of Maison Brotte was laid.
Laurent Charles Brotte dedicated his life to providing wine lovers around the world with quality wines that reflect the style and characteristics of the area. In 1952, he came up with the idea for the brand "La Fiole du Pape", which really cemented Châteauneuf-du-Pape in people's minds. Today "La Fiole du Pape" is exported to 90 countries worldwide. Maison Brotte is today a dynamic wine company with over 60 ha and 4 properties: Domaine Barville, Château de Bord, Domaine Grosset and Domaine de l'Aube and its own bottling plant.
In 1972, the family established a museum in the town of Chateauneuf-de-Pape, where visitors can take a closer look at the history of Brotte and the Rhône valley. So if you're going on holiday in the area, take a trip there, it's an experience.
