Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Mommessin is made 100 % from Pinot Noir grapes and has been aged in oak barrels.

Scent: The beautiful ruby red color sends out elegant aromas of small red fruits from cherries, blackcurrants and strawberries.

Taste: Full and round where the taste has a touch of oak and vanilla from casks. Silky soft tannins that remain in a long and pleasant aftertaste.

The wine house:

Mommessin was founded in 1865. After a century in the Mâcon region, the company moved to Quincé, which lies in the heart of Beaujolais and is now one of the largest wine houses in Burgundy. The company is owned by Philippe Bardet, who is the 5th generation of the Mommessin family. Mommessin's wines are a fusion of two wine cultures: Burgundy's noble power and fullness as well as suitability for aging and Beaujolais' young finesse, aroma and roundness. Traditional techniques, passed down from generation to generation, are combined with modern technology and result in exceptionally good wines, which are exported to more than 70 different countries.

Heir to the Cluny monks, Mommessin has its origins in Southern Burgundy. In fact, it was in the Grange Saint-Pierre, an old outbuilding of the Cluny abbey, that Jean-Marie Mommessin, the company's founder, established the company in 1865. The key of the Grange Saint-Pierre later became their house emblem.
The purchase of the famous Clos de Tart in 1932 sealed the house's establishment in the heart of Burgundy. Its headquarters were later moved to Quincié-en-Beaujolais, after more than a century of presence in Mâconnais.
