Bourgogne Le Clou is made 100% on the Pinot Noir grape from such a field, located 350-380 meters above sea level.

Scent: Notes of forest floor, cherry and raspberry with a whiff of barrel spice and rose petals.
Taste: Light and juicy with elegant, nice acidity and lots of red berries and nice rounding of tannins from barrel ageing.

Serving: Serve it slightly chilled, around 15 degrees. If it is drunk while it is still young, a trip to the decanter for a few hours will do no harm.

"Clou" is an old, Burgundian spelling of the more common "Clos" - i.e. a fenced field, often of special importance.

The wine:

Bourgogne-Devaux Hautes Côtes de Beaune "Le Clou" is a red wine of 100% Pinot Noir from a field located 350-380 meters above sea level. With south-east exposure and 10-12% slope, the light incidence is perfect on this 0.66ha plot, from which a maximum of 5300 bottles are produced.
The wine is aged for approximately 12 months in French oak, of which 10-20% are new casks.

The House:

Bourgogne-Devaux! Luc is the fourth generation of the family that makes wine in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Pommard. Their area is not large, but the quality is in return.
In 1899, their great-grandfather, Théodore Devaux, created the first buildings in their family business.
In 1946, Alexandre Devaux, together with his wife Marie-Louise, took over the family business. In 1986, his daughter Sylvie Bourgogne-Devaux took over the domaine, but was forced to sell its production as grapes. In 2012, at the behest of the two children, Fabrice and Luc, the domaine vinified its own Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune, thus reliving the satisfaction of sharing the family's passion for making wine. In 2013, as well as Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune, part of our vines in Pommard were vinified, it was the birth of our vintage "Les Vignots".
In 2014, the entire harvest was vinified at the domaine. Today, the domaine tends 2.75 hectares of its own vines (2.07ha Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge and 0.68ha Pommard).
