With this 23 year Blair Athol Single Malt from Diageo's Special Release series; you will experience delicious scent notes from the glass of peppermint and Christmas spices with oranges. The taste gets additional experiences of toffee and apples with spices without the sweetness taking over. Incredibly delicious, with a perfect balance between sweet and spices.
Scent: There are many notes coming out of the glass, first a little peppermint with burnt toffee, like a little Christmas spice and orange that gets everything in a good balance between the sweetness and the spices.
Taste: Toffee with apple leads to the rich and firm taste with sherry notes and roasted coffee and warm spices, without being sweet, although it rounds off with raisins at the end.
Aftertaste: Appears creamy with lingering plum and grapefruit with notes of nettles.

Blair Athol is a distillery we know from Diageo's Flora and Fauna range or independent bottlings. In fact, this is the first official release since 2003 and the distillery's first appearance in Diageo's annual Special Releases.
It is matured in European oak barrels that have been recycled after being scraped, toasted, recharged and refilled with fortified wine in the UK. Only then are they filled with whiskey. The result has been this delicious 23 year old whiskey with a deep and rich single malt.
