This 25 year Auchroisk bottling, distilled back in 1990, is part of the Special Release 2016 series. A single malt, bottled at cask strength of 51.2% from a mixture of American oak and European oak casks. The bottle 3,954 pcs. all with individually numbered bottles.

Scent: Fresh, sharp and juicy fruits peaches, oranges, almond oil, leather and a little smoke.
Taste: At first a little sweet and creamy, then comes fruit cake with apricots and dark chocolate with notes of menthol and orange
Aftertaste: Dark chocolate is combined with blackcurrant, orange peel in aniseed warmth

Distillery:

Justerini & Brooks built the Auchroisk distillery in 1974 to ensure a constant supply of malt whiskey for their J&B blend. The land and springs, including the water source, Dorie's Well, were bought for £5 million. Although master blender Jim Milne was launched as a blended malt. The quality of the bourbon-matured whiskey was good enough to be sold as a single malt. There was still something missing, so the spirit got a year in sherry casks. 1 more year gave a much fuller and fundamentally more complex taste. Although it was not sold as Auchroisk (pronounced 'OH-thrusk'). As the company considered the name too difficult to read and pronounce – the distillery's own bottlings were only sold until 2001 under the name Singleton and in 1986 the first bottling, a 12-year-old, was released under this name.

Large distillery with significant storage facilities, capable of holding 265,000 casks and large enough to also accommodate storage for other distilleries. Originally part of the IDV group, consisting of WA Gilbey and Justerini & Brooks, in February 1972 the group was bought by Watney Mann and in July merged with Grand Metropolitan. Following the merger between Guinness and Grand Metropolitan in 1997, Auchroisk is currently owned by Diageo. The distillery is still young and as such the range is small, mainly based on the ten year old.
