Auchentoshan 55.3 % Cask strength from The Pearls is distilled in 1998 and bottled in May 2015 with a total of 590 bottles.

Scent: Up from the glass come citrus blossoms and honey with hints of fresh herbs.
Taste: Again, the fresh floral notes are rounded off with sugary almond and lemon fruits.
Aftertaste: Medium length with a pungent sensation of white pepper.

The Pearls of Scotland 'is a continuously changing selection of exclusive single cask bottles from some of Scotland's finest distilleries.
Whiskey is bottled chilled at cask strength, without additional colour, for your pleasure and enjoyment. Each bottle is labeled with details showing the months and years of distillation and bottling, the cask number and the strength of the whisky. In addition, each bottle is individually numbered.

An independent bottling of vintage Auchentoshan single malt Scotch whiskey from 1998, presented as part of the Pearls of Scotland range. Auchentoshan is one of those wonderful Lowland distilleries that are well known for triple distilling their drops, making it rather elegant and bright.

The distillery:

Auchentoshan is a Glasgow-based distillery whose history stretches back to 1823. The distillery's slogan reads "Distilled Different", In other words: "A different distillation”.

Concretely, this is reflected in the fact that all the distillery's products are Triple distilled (“Triple-Distilled”). This simply means that after the usual second distillation, the whiskey is distilled a further time, resulting in a lighter and more rounded taste. Triple distillation is usually associated with Irish Whiskey, but Auchentoshan and a few other Scottish distilleries also use the method.
