This 21 year old Single Malt from Arran is part of the core range of the still young distillery, but is only available in limited quantities. Matured in a selection of exquisite sherry butters, the whiskey impresses with lush notes of sherry, delicate spices and roasted hazelnuts.
Scent: Dark chocolate, sweet spice
Taste: Sweetness, spice, bitter orange, citrus, dark chocolate.
About Isle of Arran Distillers:
Still one of the few privately owned distilleries in Scotland. It is run by a very experienced team. At the helm is the distillery manager, James MacTaggart, who has over 40 years of experience in whiskey production.
Since 1995, the distillery has been recognized several times for its dynamic force in the Scotch whiskey industry. In 2007, Arran was named "Scottish Distiller of the Year" in Whiskey Magazine. In 2005, the distillery won "The Queens Award for Enterprise", which is the biggest and most important honor for business in the whole of Great Britain.
The latest "shot in the arm" at Isle of Arran Distillers is the brand new LAGG distillery, which came into production in 2019. It is located on the southern tip of the island, and malt whiskey is produced here, which can next be described as a contrast to the distillery in Lochranza. The whiskey from LAGG becomes smoky, harsh and a total contrast to the soft and very elegant whiskey produced in the north.
