Appleton Estate 21 years, is one of the finest rums in the company's portfolio. The casks are carefully selected by their Master Blender Joy Spence, for this exclusive bottling. They are all aged a minimum of 21 years in Jamaica's tropical climate, but some of the components are also older. It is bottled at 43% and has no added sugar.

Scent: Powerful but also delicate scent of vanilla, honeysuckle, cocoa, coffee and nutmeg.
Taste: Long and refined taste of brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla and other spices, a touch of stone fruit and, far out on the horizon, burnt oak.

About the Manufacturer:

Appleton Estate is one of Jamaica's most important rum brands. The company is based in Nassau Valley in St. Elizabeth Parish, and can trace rum production all the way back to 1749 – and not much has changed since then.

Five large pot stills dominate Appleton's still room, but column boilers are also used. The rum is aged in 40-gallon American white oak casks located in various warehouses around Jamaica. The warehouse is not centralized in one place, to avoid the entire stock being wiped out if a natural disaster were to strike. Joy Spence is the world-famous master blender who, according to Appleton, also has the honor of being the world's first female master blender.

Appleton also includes the New Yarmouth distillery. Which until quite recently was relatively unknown, but today the heavy rum from New Yarmouth's pot stills is one of the most sought after on the rum market. The majority, however, is supposed to flavor various blends from Appleton and other brands, and is therefore rarely bottled under the New Yarmouth name, even though the distillery is larger than Appleton.
