The flagship of the Non Plus Ultra series "La Galante" is named after Columbus' ship Santa Maria La Galante, which he led when he discovered St. Croix and the West Indies. The exclusive Limited Edition blend is made from premium XO rum from the West Indies and quality distilleries in Central America; that produces rum-based spirits in the West Indian style.
Each and every barrel is carefully selected with a view to creating an exquisite barrel-aged blend that captures the essence of the West Indies and the flora of the islands.
Scent: An inciting scent of caramel, creme brulé and vanilla with notes of mahogany and the aromatic Bay Rum wood that grows wild in the West Indies.
Taste: Complex, rich and soft spicy flavor with a hint of orange, creamy vanilla and lemon with notes from the highest quality oak barrels.
Aftertaste: Rich and creamy with notes from the initial taste that gradually fade into a long aftertaste.
Each version of La Galante limited edition is created from very small batches of less than 2000 bottles per year. batch. Each cask is numbered, and so is each bottle. For collectors, this is a unique opportunity to acquire a decanter beyond the usual. The number of decanters varies from batch to batch. Behind him lies the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar, which marked the end of the old world. According to a legend, the pillars of Hercules were placed at the departure point with the inscription "Non Plus Ultra"; (Nothing After This) – a phrase that has given its name to our Non Plus Ultra blends. As is well known, Columbus did not find the sea route to India. In return, he discovered the West Indian islands, where the Spanish planted sugar cane and laid the foundation for the production of sugar and West Indian rum.
