This Mango Mussolini is a New England IPA brewed by Fanø Bryghus, created by their American brewmaster Steve Rold – as a anti-tribute to Donald Trump. The name suggests a humorous and satirical reference to Trump's signature orange self-tanner skin color. Combined with a comparison with the Italian fascist leader Mussolini.

This beer is not only a political commentary, but also an exquisite taste experience. With an alcohol percentage of 5.4% and an IBU of 40, it is suitable as a refreshing summer beer, but can be enjoyed all year round.

Mango Mussolini presents itself as a classic New England style IPA, which is filled with the flavors of lush tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple and freshly squeezed orange juice. Columbus, Citra, Mosaic and Chinook hops contribute 40 IBUs. Which gives a balanced taste with notes of citrus and spruce that counteract the sweet fruit character.

The beer's mouthfeel is full and round, thanks to the addition of oats and wheat, resulting in a pleasant and rounded finish. All in all, Mango Mussolini is not just a beer with a provocative title, but also a tasty experience that combines satire with the craft of the brewmaster.

About the Brewery:

The microbrewery Fanø Bryghus, which is located on the small island off the coast of Jutland, wins the title of Danish Brewery of the Year 2021. Fanø Bryghus was nominated by as many as five local branches; Varde, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, Middelfart and Ribe.

Fanø Bryghus has existed since 2009, but got new owners in 2018, with Sofie Janson becoming director. Steve Rold, who came from the USA to Fanø to brew beer, is behind the brewery. It wasn't until 2018 that things really took off with a new, local ownership group that allowed brewmaster Steve Rold to brew the beer he wanted.

Fanø Bryghus is, among other things, known for their Mango Mussolini, Red Wedding, and then their creative labels, which often together with the beer's title reflect a little bit of Danish history.

The brewery has a very wide range and is not afraid to try new things in terms of taste and composition. Here, the ordinary consumer has the opportunity to taste good beer in all its guises. Via their fantastic brewery and dealer, they have managed to bring these many varieties to the common man and put Southern Denmark on the 'beer map'.

Fanø Bryghus has been named Brewery of the Year 2021.
