Hødal Whiskey Master's Choice No. 6 comes from the 100 percent Danish-owned and Danish-produced distillery, with quality and sustainability at its core. In 2023 it will be 10 years since Nordisk Brænderi launched their first whisky: Special Edition no. 1.

10 years later, Hødal Whiskey No. 6 Special Edition No.6, which is aged for 5 years in, among other things, PX Sherry casks. Here are approx. half aged in first a 200 liter cask and then finished in a single 100 liter cask – while the other half is fully aged in a 100 liter cask. The herbal brewing took place in close collaboration with Thisted and Skagen Bryghus. Where the skilled brewers have made the whiskey wort, which has since been distilled and stored at Nordisk Brænderi.

A particularly rich and rounded whiskey despite its young 5-year age. Nice notes of caramel, leather and a touch of sweet tobacco, in a nice balance between sweetness and sharpness. Elegance that testifies to good craftsmanship all around.

Master's Choice is part of Nordisk Brænderi's brewmaster series, where several variants have already been launched – a series to which more bottlings will be added in the years to come.

Just one year after the establishment of Nordisk Brænderi, Anders started working with whisky, and the first was launched on his 51st birthday in 2013 – Special Edition No. 1.
And in December 2019, Special Edition No. 2 with the name Drunken Deer Whiskey – exclusively for Nordisk Brænderis subscribers in Nordisk Klan.

About the Distillery:

The distillery behind Hødal Whiskey is called Nordisk Brænderi, and can be found in the beautiful surroundings of Northern Jutland. The distillery was established in the spring of 2009 in the wake of founder, Anders Bilgram's, adventurous voyage around the Arctic Ocean in an open boat, Polar Passage 2000. During this long and inspiring expedition, Anders got the idea to start a Danish micro-distillery. He wanted it to be placed in the hilly ice age landscape of North Jutland at Hødalen's spring water with a view over Jammerbugten.

In 2020, for the first time ever, certified organic malt barley was grown on Hødalen's fields. whiskey production. And at the same time, the first sod was laid for Hødal Malteri, so that Danish whiskey can be produced from farm to table at Hødal with thoughts about sustainability and ecology.
