The wine:

Porto Réccua Ruby Reserva is from vines that grow in schist soil and the grapes are harvested manually. The mild Mediterranean climate ensures perfect ripening of the grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and pressed, after which maceration and fermentation take place. Fermentation is stopped by adding brandy made from wine. After fermentation, the wine is stored in stainless steel tanks. Many of the grapes are from the noblest red varieties of the Douro, such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca and many others from older vines.
