Glen Moray 12 years from Lady the Glen with many different shades of taste that come in layers.

Scent: Sweet on the first scent with notes of the final dish that show its qualities. Then comes red berry compote and ground ginger with caramel shortbread with a distinct licorice note that emerges over time.
Taste: A sweet dry balance comes with notes of oatcakes and strawberry jam. The second sip reveals more in the way of spice notes with baked pears dusted in cinnamon and a buttery oak character.
Ending: Vanilla and a touch of white chocolate before the sweetness fades to reveal more oak and even a hint of light smoke. Finally, a baked cinnamon apple pie impression lingers.

Glen Moray 12 years has been added to previous Bourbon casks which have given vanilla, while the long finish, over a year in a Veneta Botti Amarone wine cask, has added cherries and licorice to the taste.

A total of 260 bottles and bottled at natural cask strength of 56.6 %.

Glen Moray Distillery:

Glen Moray Distillery is located near Elgin and recognized for a light and sweet spirit. It is more than 120 years since Glen Moray began to be made in the heart of Speyside. Their rich heritage continues to inspire their single malt Scotch whiskeys today.

In 1950 the Ernes bought the nearby Gallowcrook Farm, whose barley had been used to make the very first batch of Glen Moray in 1897. Two new copper stills and a new distillery were added. The distillery was upgraded from coal to oil. Modern malting facilities were installed, which made it possible to double production. It turned out that Glen Moray was one of the most up-to-date distilleries in Scotland. New warehouses are being built to keep the growing number of casks.

In 1987, the distillery's production became seven days a week. This resulted in the production of two million liters of spirits per year.
